choose an open-source CMP and self-host it instead of embedding someone else’s script.

- Decentralized identity (DID) and verifiable credentials could allow users to share only the minimum necessary attributes, without leaking behavioral data.
Once these mechanisms become widespread, banners will fade away, replaced by standardized, browser-level consent that follows the user, not the website.
Simplicity Is the Ultimate Privacy Feature
The irony of modern compliance is that the safest website is also the simplest:
- Static HTML, no analytics, no remote scripts.
- Enforced HTTPS.
- Zero cookies, zero pop-ups.
- Everything cached locally, auditable, deterministic.
That design isn’t just faster and more secure, it’s inherently compliant everywhere.
The fewer lines of code you trust, the less surface there is to betray you.
